Stadium 974 made history even before hosting its first match. It was entirely built from shipping containers and standalone steel units, making it the world’s first fully demountable and reusable football stadium. This underscores Qatar’s commitment to cost-effective sustainability in construction and modern design. After the tournament, the containers and structure are repurposed, and facilities overlooking the waterfront are created for the benefit of the community. Additionally, a vibrant business hub is established. Despite the temporary nature of Stadium 974 under this new stadium-building concept, care has been taken to ensure its legacy for future generations.
