The Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani Museum
The Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani Museum is located near Doha in a traditional-style castle on the Samriya Farm. The museum displays the personal collections of Sheikh Faisal, which include Islamic art, Qatari heritage, vehicles, handmade carpets, and coins from four continents. The museum was built in 1998 and houses 15,000 pieces spanning from the Jurassic era to the present day. It also features a traditional Syrian house transported from Damascus, adorned with lattice work and tiles. Two typical Qatari houses containing elements from Sheikh Faisal’s own residence are also part of the museum, showcasing highly personal artifacts that illustrate the founder’s unique interests and tastes, revealing a life rich in experience.
