The Qatar Rail Company, known as “Qatar Rail” or simply “The Rail,” was established in 2011 by a decree of the Amir of Qatar. Its mandate includes designing, developing, managing, operating, and maintaining the country’s railway network upon completion. This initiative aligns with Qatar’s pursuit of comprehensive development, which necessitates the provision of a new, sustainable, and efficient mode of transportation for individuals to contribute to these developmental goals.

Qatar Rail provides successful solutions to Qatar’s transportation challenges through two major projects: the “Doha Metro” project and the “Lusail Tram” project.
