The Golden Masjid

The Golden Mosque

The Golden Masjid, located in the heart of the cultural district in the Qatari capital, Doha, shines as an architectural masterpiece that combines the authenticity of heritage with the aesthetics of modernity. The mosque witnesses daily visits from worshippers who come to it for devotion and prayer, especially during the month of Ramadan when it fills up for Taraweeh prayers.

Tourists also make it a point to visit the mosque to admire its walls adorned with golden leaf and 24-carat gold pieces, making it a unique landmark in the region. The Golden Masjid is situated near the main amphitheater in Katara and was designed in the Ottoman style by the architect Zainab Fadel Oglu, who added exquisite artistic touches with turquoise and purple mosaics.
